All Better...

Whew! I'm glad you like this, Danielle!

Oops!

Oops! The letters are in the wrong order on Jackson's book cover. Since Hebrew letters read from right to left it doesn't work out to well on a diagonal. As soon as I get confirmation from Danielle I'll redo it & repost it. Keep your eye out!

3 Days of Projects

After a busy weekend of birthday parties & babysitting, I've been able to get some projects done. On Sunday I crocheted another hat while at my grandparents' house. I used chenille yarn & a smaller hook than recommended, so Phoebe has another new hat!

Yesterday I made 2 outer bags for the purse that Pam needs. I gave her 2 options, one black & one purple but both with pansies (the flower for the Tri-Delts) and she chose the purple one. That's going postal today.

Also today, I received the fabric for my nephew's Hebrew book cover. After talking with Danielle I got started and I just finished it. I really hope Jackson likes it!

So that's all for today. I think I have the sewing bug again, so I'll finish the black pansy purse & work on a few others that I need to get done.

New Pictures & A Hair Cut

So I chopped off my hair last night (actually Erin did it for me). You can kind of see how long it was in my hat picture. Here's what I look like at this exact moment in time, post haircut. I think I lost about 6-8 inches total.

I also added a picture of my craft space in my bedroom. Bobby's happy that I finally moved all my sewing stuff out of the kitchen/dining room. Unfortunately it meant that I had to add to my space in our bedroom. I actually like having everything accessible. I was able to machine stitch on a scrapbook layout for the first time on Saturday. I work on 1/2 of a 6 ft table, and I have those cubes from Target for storage on top of the table. My stamps are in a drawer under the table, as well as all my cardstock, and my fabric is in the plastic bins. It works for me for now. Someday I'll have a whole craft room all to myself! :) (As long as Bobby has his own "man room" though.)

And I also have front & back views of the most recent purse I made for Diane. I just bought more fabric today to make a purse for my friend, Pam's, sorority silent auction. As soon as it's done it's off to Colorado. That will be my 3rd purse that's gone out of state! (of course the other 2 are also in CO, but I have more friends & family around the country... ;)

Birthday Weekend is Over....

So Emma's weekend of birthday activities went out with a bang. I decided, kind of last minute, to have a party for her today since it's a holiday & everyone was around (except Bobby, which was probably a good thing). So I invited a few friends, 13 to be exact. Yes, I'm crazy! There were 15 kids & 8 adults in our apartment. Luckily our neighbors were here so the noise level wasn't an issue. lol! It actually went really well! I was so impressed with all the kids, even my own. The ages ranged from 1 to 9 and they all played together. 5 of the girls are actually Emma's 5 year old friends and they brought a few younger siblings, three 8 year old big brothers (that worked out well!) and one big almost 10 year old sister. Emma had a blast & that's all that matters. Now she has another playdate on Thursday & 2 birthday parties on Saturday. What a little social butterfly!

Pierced Ears!!!

Here's Emma's after-shot yesterday when we got home from getting her ears pierced. She, of course, wanted the huge pink "diamonds" but they were too big even for me to wear. So we settled on the small pink diamonds and she looks so adorable! She's really growing up too fast!

Back to Sewing

So today I made another purse. I know, I really can't stick to one thing for too long. I made a purse for Ma's friend, Diane. She sent me the fabric & gave me creative liberty to do as I pleased. I think it turned out quite nicely and I hope she really likes it!
Emma had a playdate today with her friend Siara. I feel so bad about her not being in preschool anymore, but I guess as long as she has these playdates she'll be fine. I still can't believe she'll be 5 on Saturday. Where did the time go? Now if the whining would just stop.....

Kid Pics, Finally!

Here are some pics of the Jake & Emma (and my sister, Michelle). Sorry I have to make the files smaller in order to post them (dial-up), so they end up a little blurry. But I'm sure you get the idea!

More Snow!

Well, it's another snowy day here. Fun stuff!

Good news is, I just finished my first "official" cloche hat. I tried 2 other patterens; the first one was made with the wrong stiches - too short, the second was supposed to be a kids' hat, but it's too big for me! This one took longer, but I love how it came out. Very "flapper-esque." Here's the link for the pattern for the Blue Star Cloche: http://www.joyfulabode.com/?p=41

I made a flower instead of a star though.
Oh, and now that I figured out how to post pics, I'll post some of the kids' pics in a little bit. Thanks for looking!

So many crafts, so little time!

So I crocheted 2 hats in the past 2 days. I get a little bored with one thing for an extended period of time, so I take a short break, make something completely different, then eventually go back & my mind is a little more open.
I've been working on my entries for the design team call at the scrapbook store. I'm really hoping to make it this year! Wish me luck!
I also need to get ready for Emma's 5th birthday next weekend. I can't believe she's 5 already! Time really flies when you have kids, doesn't it?
Oh, and I'm waiting for some fabric from Ma's (my grandmother) friend so I can make her a purse. Then I'm also going to make a book cover for my nephew's Hebrew school. It's been a couple weeks since I've had the sewing machine out, so I'm kind of anxious to do that again. I have a few others to work on as well.
As soon as I figure out how to post pics here I will.

Day 2 - Figuring it all out

Well, I'll be here on & off today trying to figure out how to post pics & stuff. My daughter Emma (almost 5) has a fever again today. It's so warm here for January, but I can't justify taking the kids out to play if they're sick. We'll see how she's feeling later.
I also have some scrapping stuff to do today so I can get the cards out for my 2Peas group.
For those of you who don't know, I post a lot on Two Peas in a Bucket. Many of my scrapbook pages are shown in my gallery there. Click on the link below to see them.

I also have some purses to get started on, so I'll be busy.
Thanks for reading!

I'm Here!

Wow!
I can't believe I've finally entered the world of Blogdom. I guess this will just be my spot for telling about my life, my family, and connecting with those friends & family who live far away. So I suppose all I can say now is "Welcome to my Blog!"
